The coronavirus crisis has pushed us at KID Museum to find new ways to serve our community, and keep kids and families connected and learning. We quickly pivoted to a full suite of engaging and high-impact virtual programs, from free, do-it-yourself projects for kids and families to real-time sessions led by our educators that help kids develop new skills and take on maker challenges at home. We’re also partnering with schools, county agencies, and community organizations to ensure broad access to creative learning experiences, and help combat the staggering learning loss resulting from school closures. And, when PPE was desperately needed for our front-line healthcare providers, KID Museum stepped up to coordinate a community-wide response, deploying all of our 3D printers and recruiting others to produce and deliver hundreds of face shields and masks.
